Return policy

In-store purchases

To return your purchase and/or receive a refund, you must:

  • Return the item(s) to any NSCC bookstore within 15 business days of purchase
  • Present the original sales receipt
  • Return textbooks in original, resaleable condition/packaging (i.e., shrink wrap not removed, no writing or highlighting, no creases or tears)
  • Print on Demand materials are not refundable

 Refunds are issued based on the payment method used at the time of purchase.

Online purchases

Before returning an online purchase, contact the NSCC Bookstore to confirm your order is eligible for a refund.

Students residing in Nova Scotia

To return items purchased via the NSCC eBookstore:

  • Return the item(s) to any NSCC bookstore within 15 business days of receiving your order
  • Present the original sales receipt
  • Return items in original, resaleable condition/packaging (i.e., shrink wrap not removed, no writing or highlighting, no creases or tears)

Students residing outside Nova Scotia

To return items purchased via the NSCC eBookstore:

  • Ship the returned item(s) within 15 business days of receiving your order
  • Returns must be shipped via a trackable carrier service (Canada Post Xpresspost, Purolator Courier, FedEx, UPS, etc.), so proof of shipment and delivery can be obtained
  • Returns sent through regular post mail cannot be tracked; if lost, the item(s) will be the sole responsibility of the sender
  • Returns must include the original sales receipt in the packaging
  • Return items in original, resaleable condition/packaging (i.e., shrink wrap not removed, no writing or highlighting, no creases or tears)
  • NSCC will only refund shipping charges for defective, damaged or incorrect orders; all other returns will be shipped at the customer’s expense and are non-refundable
  • An original copy of the receipt for return shipping costs must be included in the return package; this applies only to defective, damaged or incorrect order returns
  • Items returned by C.O.D. (cash on delivery) shipping will not be accepted
  • Costs to ship replacement items back to the customer, in the case of defective, damaged or incorrect order only, will be paid by NSCC
  • Refunds are issued based on the payment method used at the time of purchase
  • Late returns, returns without the original receipt, or those returned in unsaleable condition, will not be refunded and may be shipped back to the customer at the customer’s expense
